New Believer or Non-Believers, Identity Part-1 Supplement
October 30, 2015
The importance of being a Christian is ensuring you surround yourself with like-minded people. As my mom, read the Identity Part-1 she reminded me of a very key element in learning your identity, if you are new to Christianity or are still researching Christianity. THANKS MOM!
If you want to become a Christian, it's important to follow the instructions of the Bible:
Acts 2:38 (Amplified Bible) And Peter said to them, “Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
These are the steps, as outlined in scripture above and broken down below. You don't need to have Christianity all figured out. In addition you don't need to be anywhere near perfect. God accepts who you are, He made you. He loves you and He wants you to draw near to Him.
1. Repent of your sins - acknowledge to God your regret for your past actions/thoughts
Tell Him you are sorry. Ask for His forgiveness. Be honest.
2. Ask Jesus into your heart. Tell Jesus you want to follow Him and learn of His ways.
3. Get baptized by an ordained minister
It's NEVER to late to turn to Jesus! You are never too old nor does it matter of what your past actions were. You were made in the image of God and all He cares about is that you accept Him today and you will try to do your best every day by learning more about Him.
A relationship is ALWAYS a two-way street. Spend time in the Bible, start with the book of Matthew and just learn about Jesus. He already knows everything about you.
Once you've accepted Jesus as Saviour, then it's important to learn more about your identity as a child of God.
