Jesus was the picture of love. He ministered in love and corrected in love. He knew the Father's heart, which is of pure love. What if we were able to react out of love regardless of the situation or circumstance?
1 Peter 4:8 (Amplified Bible) "Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins." WOW... isn't that amazing... LOVE covers not just a few sins but a MULTITUDE of sins! This is how important it is to operate out of love towards others and ourselves. Jesus modeled forgiveness by His love for others. When we love, we are also forgiving, which is how love can cover so much ground where sin resides.
Some people are so easy to love but as Christians we are called to love the ones who prove to be difficult. We are called to love the ones who dislike us, the ones who annoy us, and the ones who want nothing to do with God. This is how Jesus loved! As He traveled, he didn't only speak to the ones who believed in Him, He spoke to ALL that came to Him. And each time He spoke it was with great passion and love.
John 15:12 (Amplified Bible) " This is My commandment: that you love one another just as I have loved you." Jesus commanded His disciples to love in the exact same way that He loved them! He didn't say try to love, or love in a similar fashion, He said JUST AS I have loved you. Jesus was the exact model of how we are to love. He showed us how He did it and then expects us to do the same. He is the ultimate mentor!
Don't be hard on yourself for your unloved actions of the past. You have been forgiven of that. But strive to be better today. Get into better habits and make that your personal mission. Jesus came to this earth to be the example of how to love. Honor Him by loving ALL those around you!
